The best antivirus software for Android

During September 2017 we evaluated 21 mobile security products for Android using their default settings. We always used the most current version of all products for the testing. They were allowed to update themselves at any time and query their in-the-cloud services. We focused on malware detection and usability, including performance and false positives. Products had to demonstrate their capabilities using all components and protection layers.

In thousands of tests, the experts examined name-brand protection products for consumer users and corporate users on Windows, Mac and Android and certified them for their strong security performance. The AV-TEST Award 2024 honors the products that have consistently stood out with top scores and achieved peak ratings in the long-term test results throughout 2024. For its high level of protection, the Best MacOS Security Award for Consumer Users goes to Avast from the Gen Digital group.

Added to this is the Best Advanced Protection Award for Corporate Users. Bitdefender is also receiving awards in the test categories of Best Android Security and Best MacOS Security for Consumer Users.
